The weekly critique is the course. Inés's notes on my layouts were blunt and specific, and I could not argue with a single one of them.

Every assignment came back with notes within three days of handing it in, and the notes were about my screen, with arrows on it. I have paid more for courses whose instructors never looked at my work once. I run service design for a city council now, and I still reread those notes before I lead a critique of my own team's screens on a Monday morning.

The tutor never says which layout is better. It asks what the reader looks at first, and now I ask that of every screen I make at work.

My portfolio reviews changed after this course. People asked about my process and research, where they used to ask about fonts.

I am an engineer, and by week two I could see why my layouts looked off to other people. I will never see spacing the same way again.

I came from print, and this course was the bridge. The exercises use real product screens, which was what I needed to see.

Enough of the basics to follow along without stopping to look things up. Lesson one is free, so open that first: if its practice set feels routine to you, you are ready for the rest of the course.
Nothing expires. 6 weeks at 4 hours a week is the pace the course was planned at, and at 2 hours it takes 12 weeks. The panel above works out a finish date for whatever pace you give it.
A start date, a finish date and a live review of the week's work every Thursday, with the same 30 people from the first week to the last. The lessons and the tutor are the ones the self-paced track gets.
A certificate from the school that made the course, and the project the instructor's team reviewed. Each comes with a link that anyone, an employer included, can open and check in a few seconds.
Yes, within 30 days of enrolling, from your account page and with no form to fill in or reason to give. Lesson one is free with the tutor, so most people know the course suits them before they pay.
Yes. Inés recorded every lesson in Spanish, and the tutor answers in it too. There are transcripts in 5 languages as well.
It opens with the tutor beside it and the practice set under it, and asks for no card. The other 14 lessons are $59 once, or part of Plus.
