The weekly critique is the course. Noor's notes on my layouts were blunt and specific, and I could not argue with a single one of them.

Every assignment came back with notes within three days of handing it in, and the notes were about my screen, with arrows on it. I have paid more for courses whose instructors never looked at my work once. I run service design for a city council now, and I still reread those notes before I lead a critique of my own team's screens on a Monday morning.

The tutor never says which layout is better. It asks what the reader looks at first, and now I ask that of every screen I make at work.

My portfolio reviews changed after this course. People asked about my process and research, where they used to ask about fonts.

I am an engineer, and by week two I could see why my layouts looked off to other people. I will never see spacing the same way again.

I came from print, and this course was the bridge. The exercises use real product screens, which was what I needed to see.

No. The first module starts from nothing, and the tutor in each lesson answers the questions a first-timer asks, however basic they feel. What you need is 2 hours a week and a browser.
Nothing expires. 2 weeks at 2 hours a week is the pace the course was planned at, and at an hour a week it takes 4 weeks. The panel above works out a finish date for whatever pace you give it.
This one is self-paced only: at 2 weeks it would be over before a cohort found its rhythm. The discussion under each lesson is where the other learners are, and the instructor reads it.
The project itself, reviewed, and a line on your record that links to it. A guided project carries no certificate, because the finished work, with the review attached, is the thing you show an employer.
Yes, within 30 days of enrolling, from your account page and with no form to fill in or reason to give. Lesson one is free with the tutor, so most people know the course suits them before they pay.
Waypoint Plus is $29 a month and opens this course along with every other. At $19 this one costs less than a month of it, so buy it on its own if it is the only course you mean to take this year.
It opens with the tutor beside it and the practice set under it, and asks for no card. The other 5 lessons are $19 once, or part of Plus.
